Yes, I understand, but that would simply end up confusing. We don't know what the absolute max HP is. We could create 20 hearts based on a rough assumption that we take, but then you won't be able to see another 10 hearts for another 99 levels. The idea in general just isn't implemented with the...
If 10 hearts equals 100 HP at lvl 1, how many hearts do you have when you're lvl 100 and have like 5000 HP? It literally does not fit on your screen. We hacked around this for a reason.
We don't increase any hearts, we increase the virtual amount of HP. We made it so that the HP increase is not visualised through hearts otherwise the amount of hearts would fly out the top of your screen.
Hehe, I had to look it up since I forgot. It's called Minecraft Overviewer. It very comparable to dynmap, just a standalone application where you pre-render a map.
Okay so, the suggestion of an online map is more than reasonable and is actually already being prepared. We have a map running on https://map.dyescape.com but it's restricted til alpha launch. It's made with a very similar tool to Dynmap. The reason why we're not using Dynmap is because (from...
Been thinking of similar ideas. Block phasing does make all of this possible. You could even use the perfect teleportation thing they brought back into the game to create an illusion effect. Y'know, those games where you to choose left or right infinitely only to find out you need to go...
Already exists. Take a look at this one, it's quite nice for making fantasy names of any kind.
Edit: Found another one which includes a restful API we can easily hook into: see here.
How would that be implemented? Lets say I create a guild and I need to set a name. Having this name approved could take a few hours (assume people have lives). What so you do in those hours? Can you continue with your guild or do you need to wait? What if its rejected, what if it is rejected...
Voted against. Reason for this is because I feel like the restrictions will be a more negative impact than it is positive. As Jay said, it's good to prevent some names (containing banned words) for example, but I think limiting it to a generator or list of names would be too much of a...
I probably misphrased things. It is probably possible to implement this, just very tricky and needs a tremendous amount of specific testing.
Phasing is either possible in two ways.
1) Possibility one is that we make a container, which we can add entities to. We can add players, monsters, item...
Indeed, that's not how phasing works. Phasing is a mechanism that allows us to isolate entity interactions between two entities. For the most part (with players, monsters, item drops, etc) this works by creating phased containers. This means that all entities inside of this container can...
That's not what's being suggested though. What is being suggested is that we add some kind of channel to Discord, for example, where people can schedule their own events. They don't have to be Dyescape events. It's just people hooking up together to do stuff. What is being suggested is that we...
Would personally just use the other respective channels, so we don't mix discussions of different events. For example, @TheJayZ could discuss his cooking show event in #food while someone else could discuss his game event in #gaming. Similarly, people can discuss their music related event in...
Understandable. But do note that we are not going to use the announcement channel for these kind of things. My head will be virtually cut off if I put something in announcements which has nothing to do with alpha. Would a #events channel work, where we simply post something along the lines of...
It really depends on what you want to do and what the scope of it is. If we have Dyescape specific (in-game) events, then programming, implementing and announcing them wouldn't be a problem. There are a bit of problems when you want to play on a different server (for example) with a group of a...
