Long description: When you open sell menu, if you have multiple stacks of the same item, each stack shows separately for selling

Other useful information: If intended, another approach would be better as it makes inventory rather complex and confusing if you have same item of the different name for sell too

This is intended. Your idea to make it better would result in the same problem.

This is intended because you cannot have stacks above 64, therefore, you'd run into problems if you only display an item once while having more than 64 items. Any other inventory system to our knowledge would also run into the same problem when you have two items of the same texture but with different names. Sadly, for food we're bounded by the limited amount of textures.
