With the reveal of the donor perks and many different discussions have been sparked about them. While there are some more popular topics, I want to talk about something that is going to very likely make one of the perks "better".

Class Trials

Class trials would be a feature that allows you to test a class freely before making the choice of one permanently. But why would this matter since you can just make another character?

One of the new perks was Class Unlock Tokens, which to those uninformed unlocks one of the futures "Premium Classes". Since we don't exactly know how this system works for unlocking them, I'm going to go the safe route and assume you just spend the tokens in-game to unlock a single class for all your future characters permanently. This means if there are let's say 7 premium classes, you only need 7 tokens total to unlock all of them permanently.

But then a single question rises, how do I know what the class is like?

Well, obviously you can kind of speculate based on the name. For example, just the name necromancer gives you a good idea of what kind of abilities that class would have. And then you can read about it on the wiki
(you should totally check the wiki after reading this) and that would give you a decent idea off what the skills are and what they do, but for most people, including me, it's all about the feel of a class. Now this can be easily solved with a class trial system.

Well, how would this work?

Simply in the character creation menu or class select, you would have the option to try each class, including the premium ones. You would have access to all their abilities and spell trees and some dummies to test the abilities on. You are free to mess around with the spells till you are convinced you like or dislike the class. Then you can just test another class or permanently select which class you liked the best.

And that's it. If you have thoughts comment below.

Fantastic! A suggestion I can actually give a concise and conclusive official response to.

This has already been planned out. We'll have weekly class rotations. After a few weeks since the release of the class, it will be added to the queue of rotating classes. So, a class releases. E.g. 4 weeks after it will be put into the rotation queue. Then, depending on the position or the number of classes it will take a few weeks till it's available for everyone to play (for a week). Thus that will be your time and space to try out a certain class before using any class tokens on it.

I'll mark this as approved since it's technically already thought of. But not exactly your idea. But you can just try out the class in an actual environment.

Does this mean that Classes would be considered "fluid" since they can be rotated? ie. This class is available if you have it unlocked - though you can change classes at any time?

No, you cannot change classes at any time. You'd have to restart the game to play as another class.

Just to prevent potential confusion; you can have multiple characters at once. You don't need to delete all of your progress on character A if you simply want to try out a class on character B. Though character B will be a new character (assuming you just created it for the sake of testing the new class).
