It would be nice to have a small mark on the NPC that have like side quest but we didn't do so we make sure we didn't miss any quests.

This is what the wiki would be used for, to reference what quests we may of accomplished or have not done. As for having a quest book dedicated to show you what quests you have done, have not done, or failed to do would again in another post made by someone else a waste of resources. Refer to https://www.dyescape.com/threads/quest-list.1597/ for a constructive yet talked about points for that.

I do agree how ever in game the npc's should have markers over head that would go ahead and show that the npc would have a quest to give if interacted with.
